Well, that is better than nothing, and yes MPlayer is my primary
_practical_ concern.
But I was more thinking of something like "out of the non-discarded
streams, suggest me an audio/video/subtitle stream to play".
I do not know if this makes too much sense, it might be better to just
export more information (esp. bandwidth stuff), but still such an API
might make it easier to quickly hack a player...
