I have never put forth snobby attitudes of superiority over people
based on levels of wealth, resource availability, geographic and
cultural differences, etc. Whenever I'm condescending, it's because
someone has an idea that's technically crap, or because they're being
snobby/elitist just like you're being right now.

Furthermore you should rethink this. I don't think you'd be too happy
if you played a nasty .mov on your cell phone, only to find a $1000
bill at the end of the month because the .mov file actually streamed
the whole video over the internet... Pay-per-byte internet is not a
thing limited to "third world countries" which you mock but rears its
ugly head in plenty of 'advanced' things.
