Indeed I wasn't sure about the interpretation of your mail, so the
alternative would be:
"The options specified in a preset file are applied to the currently
selected codec of the same type as the preset option."

I have a slightly preference for the committed form, as it isn't
immediately clear what is the type of an option, but I'll change it if
you think it's preferable the second one.
