Didn't seem realistic to me when I implemented it. Actually still doesn't.
But maybe one day it'll actually get there.

Hm, well, at least there should be one FATE machine running with it IIRC,
so it's not completely without test.
Btw. going back to the original commit, what are your thoughts about an
"automp3" codec that automatically selects whichever codec should be faster
(could be compile-time for now)?
I was thinking about adding some hacks for that to MPlayer somewhen but thought
it might be more useful and less hackish to do it in FFmpeg...
