OK, I've replaced all tabs with spaces along with some prettyprinting on
the code where it was necessary after the tab removal, in related places
and a few random places along the way.

I'm very glad it's finally finished, this took about an order of magnitude
more time than I expected...  *sigh*

Again, some of the commit messages were held back by the mailing list
program due to being excessively big, somebody should cancel them,
the diff is not particularly exciting.
