indeed, only the first frames without SPS/PPS are interlaced, which i assume
now should get skipped

still couldnt you reproduce the "EOF searching for sequence header"? can you
play the file without a problem (eg in mplayer)?
btw i get the same error on another hdtv stream i once uploaded to mplayer
incoming (1.001) which also doesnt start with PPS/SPS
