Hm... I don't think removing the web documentation is a good idea... 
building the documentation from the sources requires texinfo to be 
installed. Half of the people using FFmpeg won't have that, so we'll get 
questions on the list asking "how do I build the docs / how do I install 
texinfo"... so I think it's better to have documentation on the server 
that is updated automatically (which doesn't seem to be a big problem in 
principle).
