Yes, most likely.  They have all manner of idiotic policies where I
work too.  The silliest part is that *everybody* I've talked to about
them, from engineers to technical directors, more or less agree that
it's stupid, but "that's the policy".  Somehow it doesn't seem to
occur to them that such policies are not set in stone.

For the record, the Broadcom engineers I've had reason to work with
have all been friendly and helpful.
