I can't believe what i'm reading here. You guys truly are the most  
arrogant group of coders on the planet. There indeed is NO technical  
advantage. But guess what. YES USERS ARE STUPID. They are dense as  
hell. If they were not, they would know how to protect their  
computers from all those !%*&!#@ viruses. Apple knows their users,  
and understands that they don't know, nor care to know the difference  
between x86 and PPC. They devised this way to do their PPC to Intel  
conversion and they are RIGHT to do so, it's their choice.

Build-system wise it's a feature, not a requirement. People can  
compile however they want, but I believe ppl should have any option  
they desire as a binary result. Optimizations, debug code, (no)  
encoders, (L)GPL, or multiplatform capability trough Mach-O binaries,  
it's up to them. Who are you to decide what ppl require ???

FFmpeg devs produce great code, but as far as users are concerned,  
you should stay in your hell
holes and let ppl like those at Apple be the judge of what THEIR  
users understand and want.

in short: it's only bloated if you want it to be.

DJ, who knows he is probably stepping on some toes here, but is  
getting sick and tired of the one-sided views of some ppl on this  
mailing-list.
