read bugreports.html, and provide all details, full output from ffmpeg
all error messages, description of the problem, svn revision of the log
message you speak about and so on, or tell us how to read your mind

i would rather use msmpeg4v3 and msadpcm with asf/wmv
microsofts containers probably work better with their own codecs
then standard codecs
