[Ffmpeg-devel] firewalls and svn access

Dear repository maintainers,

Several users on the ffmpeg-user list have noted that they are unable to
access the ffmpeg (or mplayer) svn repository via the standard svn port
(3690) due to their institutional or corporate firewall.

Request to sys admins regarding opening "unusual" ports tend to go
via /dev/null. Since ffmpeg repository snapshots are no longer
available, this part of the ffmpeg/mplayer user base is stuck out in the
cold.

Please consider configuring the svn server to accept requests on an
additional, standard port (443?). Otherwise, perhaps the nightly
snapshots could be reinstated?

Hopefully,
D.
