[Ffmpeg-devel] MPEG2 and AC3 track type tag to add to quicktime mov container

Hello guys,

I've run into some tests regarding the ability of ffmpeg to move MPEG2 video and AC3 tracks from muxed PS MPEG files to mov containers (there is a good free AC3/A52 quicktime codec now available and apple's M2V codec is not too shabby - apart that it doesn't support muxed PS streams).

I've run into the fact that it appears that ffmpeg doesn't have the right quicktime "stsd" references for MPEG2 video track and AC3 audio track. The official tags for those tracks are "m2v " and "ac-3"...

Since I am a newby on this project (I've opened the code and registered one hour before this post), I suspect that the first step would be to add the references into the mov.c file code and then ... well I don't know - yet (I hope that ffmpeg is modular enough to provide the fewest changes to accomodate adding a new track type into a file container)...

What do you guys think about this?
