You're severely confused on your theories of governance. Anyway, FFmpeg 
is a dictatorship that leans toward the benevolent side, with 
Niedermayer at the helm. He is the recognized f?hrer and the final 
authority on code that goes into the repo. The beauty is that he hasn't 
been granted the authority to kill dissenters (yet), and they are free 
to leave and create their own separatist states.

But I sincerely believe that we don't need to elevate to that level yet.
