You can stream MPEG audio and video over RTP with ffmpeg by doing
ffmpeg -re -i $1 -vcodec copy -an -f rtp rtp://127.0.0.1:10000 -vn
-acodec copy -f rtp rtp://127.0.0.1:20000 -newaudio

format like all the other ones... So, sending audio or video over RTP is
as easy as writing it to a file).
