I cannot comment on the code (I do not know IPv6), but this patch fixes
the problem I am seeing when I configure without --disable-ipv6

And the patch looks obviously correct.

I am still uncomfortable with the idea of making this change without fully
understanding what's going on... Can we get some kind of confirmation that
MacOS X is broken and sendto() does not work on it? If yes, then I guess this
patch is ok. If no, we have to investigate a little bit more...
