This is list is about development of FFmpeg, so I can not see how
this belongs on this list.
You can either just use libavformat as is or you will have to find out
for yourself, the source code is there, the source code for FreeMe2 is
available as well (where you can just compare the original to the
decrypted file and find your answers without even reading any source).
And after you have all your answers, preferably document them here:

That article actually has the answer you look for, but the way you ask
suggests that you will have many more questions before you get whatever
you try to do to work.
