I don't understand what most of the foregoing means. But a lot of your
patches seem to get committed eventually. So I guess it is desirable to
ensure that the binaries are free of these anomalies.

If you can write a script that runs against a binary and either outputs
"The binary is okay." or a list of problematic sections, and get the
script approved here, I could probably add it as an automated test to
the new FATE testbench (fate.multimedia.cx) and catch these problems on
an ongoing basis.
