Declaring that incorrect data with a semantic interpretation different
from what the user probably intended should be reinterpreted to work
around user stupidity is very dangerous. This is why so many A/V
formats are utterly broken. They have many possibly syntax elements
which should have undefined behavior but which come to have an idiotic
expected behavior because of conforming to idiot users' expectations.
Intentionally breaking the broken syntax as much as possible (e.g.
rejecting mail or assigning a well-defined behavior to it) is much
better for fixing the core problem.
