Well, it was easy until few weeks ago... But I see that now there is a
renamed field that requires massive changes. I have no time for it right
now; I'll try to prepare a patch in the next days.

Just force the people to see "this feature will be removed on ..." if
they want the LGPLed scaler. Maybe, we can be lucky and someone can
send a patch before that date ;-)

The problem is that we never removed the old API, and maybe this confused
someone.

Anyway, I see your point. I just had that idea and I thought that it
could help the transition, but I am not going to defend it too much...
