[FFmpeg-devel] debug info

Hi,
   I'm a newbie to ffmpeg . I am trying to used gstreamer ffmeg plugin for
my console based application and I am trying to debug using printfs but I
get error / warnings
when I compile with printf.  I tried tprintf and av_log  , but I am not able
to see where the error or log messages are located ?
Can you please let me know where  I can see the messages or any general way
to debug using printfs ?
