Strictly speaking, no this isn't required since we can consider it
just a sort of an internal API, and use it from within FFmpeg as it's
done for many other modules.

Well I suppose this means to make libavcodec/imgconvert.c use pixdescs
and dump PixFmtInfo, I'll do that, but I'd like not to block lavfi
development in the meaningwhile.
