(Since "without any SIMD" is still not totally clear imo.)
On my Core 2 Duo with the Opensuse package libvpx 0.9.0-13.1, ffmpeg -vcodec
libvpx -i big_buck_bunny_480p.webm decodes twice as fast as with the native
decoder.
That is also what a user reports here:
