I see. Thanks to you both for those details. It seems this is still
uncharted territory, with a lot of new code needed to achieve anything. The
system I have designed two years ago works satisfactorily, and I have no
spare time to re-work it in depth, so I will leave it as is for now.

If people here want, I can give the technical details and the code for the
tools I have written. If not, I think I can stop this discussion here.
