At work?  At home?  I suggest giving Ubuntu or Gentoo a spin, both
come with complete multimedia support.  I'm sure you will never
look back to Fedora once you have tried them.

I suggest you put alternative package repositories in place for the
packages you do not - for whatever reason - want to ship yourself.
It works for all other distributions, so I'm sure it will work for
you as well.  Just try it.
