Err no, only TPE1 ever gets mapped to artist, since this is what
everybody agrees on. I'm yet to see a file which has another artist-like
tag set, but not artist/TPE1. So the problem you're proposing still
looks purely imaginary to me, and I don't really feel like designing a
new complicated conversion system because of the issues that don't
exist.

And in any case, I don't why is this delaying my patch, this system
you're proposing is mostly orthogonal to callbacks.
