[FFmpeg-devel] [API][RFC] sample format and planar audio

Hi

A few days ago i had the idea of distinguishing planar audio from
packed by using the sample format (more precissely by adding 256 to it)
libswresample already uses this method but it could be used throughout
ffmpeg
The advantages would be that the list of supported sample formats that
codecs can have can also list if they support planar, and similar
applications can use the existing sample format logic.
It also matches pix format which also identifies packed/planar
