Are you doing this because of the overlapping menu with small screens?

The Home/News page contains some information about the project, so the
"Home" is somehow justified. Maybe we could move that introduction to the
"About" page and make it the index/home.

I'm OK with the rest of the patchset, thought, I'm not sure about having
some information duplicated between the News and the Security page.

OTOH, the patchset is very simple and is an improvement, so I'm not
opposed to it. Maybe a web maintainer would be happy to comment.
