It is pretty straightforward: the feedback factors act mostly like the
coefficient in an exponential weighted moving average, and this coefficient
is en exponential of the update step.

Both patch pushed, plus the third about ALSA since I am pretty sure it is
correct and I believe no one maintains ALSA.

ALSA has reliable timestamps again. Note that these commits may have their
place in branches 0.9 and 0.10.
