The short name of a demuxer was changed, and MPlayer for once wasn't the
only one relying on it.
Maybe not quite the same, but the duration for of ASS subtitles in mkv if
I remember right broke at some point and was never fixed, I guess by now
e.g. MPlayer could use FFmpeg's ASS decoder to handle that by parsing the
textual time code but it was a long time where that option didn't exist.
It's of course very minor stuff, the big stuff nobody could "get away
with", but it's a bit annoying nevertheless (particularly when the
"it was never public API" reasoning is used, which usually makes things
worse since then the change isn't even documented in APIchanges as a
result).
