I can get displayed using -sst 3 and 4 (according to the documentation, it
should be 1 and 2, but this is another matter entirely). I have always had
trouble with 't' in ffplay: apparently you need to seek back in order to
re-fill the sub queue or something; also it lacks feedback.

I have pushed the patch to my tree:

83affcd lavc: use packet duration for subtitles if necessary.
