I did not miss it. Given that it will not be clear to some users what
causes the crash, I question the method. They will have an unprotected
system for a while and, just because of that, will hesitate to download
and install another virusscanner.

My point: a system without any (active) virusscanner is less secure than
a system with the vulnerable MSE up and running.
