I don't think this is necessary, this is already (much 
more visible) part of our configure script.

Or to say it differently:
People who patch configure to outsmart license issues will 
both not read this sentence and want to ignore it.

I don't think this hunk of the patch is acceptable.
At least it cannot be part of the bugfix you sent.
