[FFmpeg-devel] H.264 Lossless Decoding Patch (Profile 244) for 8x8 Intra Prediction

This will break decoding on all x264-encoded lossless files (the vast
majority of lossless files) produced in the past half decade or so.

Unfortunately, x264's (and ffmpeg's) lossless support were written at
a time when JM was more buggy and less mature, and this subtlety was
overlooked. However, this patch to "fix" decoding will break practical
decoding operation for the vast majority of users.
