I don't think we have a standardized method for "addition" deferrals, just
for "deprecation" deferrals (see lib*/version.h). For simpler cases we
sometimes add compiler-specific macros (see e.g. libavutil/attributes.h),
but I doubt that would improve readability in this particular case...
