Another option would be to use the implementation of pthread_cond_wait and
friends from Pthreads-win32: http://sourceware.org/pthreads-win32/
While that project was last updated five years ago, there is a long
discussion on the right way to implement condition variables. Also, the
source is under LGPL and thus could be used without problems in FFmpeg.
