 This issue might be related to the forum thread here:

 There, one user sites the following commit as a possible cause to the
 issue:

 threads: default to automatic thread count detection
 }}}
 Another user on that thread says "compiling with --disable-pthreads rather
 than --disable-w32threads" fixes the issue.
