 Would be good if this was generally available rather than specifically as
 it is now in version.h. Also I think a version.h that has the proper build
 string in it may not be readily available in a general download of the
 source code.

 Could be a #define in avutil.h or function call.

 It's better than any lib_version function for tracking user installations
 etc.
