 Allow me to repeat that I'd still like to understand why - if I understood
 one of your posts above correctly - ffmpeg sometimes works and sometimes
 fails for the same input file.

 If you can reproduce this behaviour (this different behaviour), could you
 post the command lines together with console output both for the working
 and the non-working case?
