Considering VDPAU is essential for HD viewing on low performance CPU,
anything that may impact CPU consumption/latency/video decoding should be
really taken into account IMHO. I have an old hardware design with an atom
330 and a ion1 chipset, and on this hardware there just enought CPU for
doing vdpau bob deinterlace. Anything that slightly hits the cpu makes the
system unsuitable for watching HD TV at 1080i as I start losing frame.
