 This is not done for any other codec.

 I just tested a five year old version and the unit is bps.

 > so a novice user of modern FFmpeg may set bitrate like -b:a 128. If
 something sounds, the user may notice that the bitrate set is too low.

 Current FFmpeg prints a warning.

 Since this is unrelated, please don't let this delay the patch.
