       Consider reworking your command to use non-named pipes and introduce
 the 'pv' command into the pipeline to create a fixed-size buffer. Checkout
 this article which may be of assistance

 Alternatively experiment with the fifo and afifo filters, but in my
 experience they consume large amounts of memory.
