 I re-read your response.  Somehow It didn't come through to me the first
 time.  I now see what you're saying about gbrp16 and that zimg/zscale
 requires it as input.  Further, I see what you're saying about swscale not
 properly converting and/or allowing output of proper gbrp16.

 Hopefully having an example file of what I'm working with is helpful.
