 Thanks for the feedback and link jamrial.

 Maybe only an empty string
 {{{
 -metadata encoder=''
 }}}
 could be accepted as an exception, to allow removal but not
 ''mis''attribution.

 Then again, I'm sure there are more important things to work on.
