 I'm confused. Why the "wontfix"? Is there a claim that the current
 behaviour is correct?

 I read Balling's comment as meaning, "current behaviour is wrong, but
 wrong in a different way than the bug description says, so the fix should
 be different than what the bug description proposes". Not, "current
 behaviour is right".

 So, why the "wontfix"?
