I don't think we have a mp4 sample containing srt subtitles.
Do you have one?
Which player plays it?

Please see http://ffmpeg.org/bugreports.html - crashes are usually important.
(I could not reproduce the problem with random srt input.)

Generally, please always post complete, uncut console output, it makes
understand problems significantly easier / possible at all.
