Hello Roger,

I created and developed in late 2004 an application that is called
EnKoDeur-Mixeur (links in my signature) ... the application uses
(among others) FFmpeg. We are 3 developers in the project since 2009.
Since the appearance of avconv fork, the fork will replace FFmpeg in
future versions of Debian and Ubuntu (*** THIS PROGRAM IS DEPRECATED
*** This program is only for compatibility Provided and will be
removed in a future release. Please avconv use instead ...). we
(developers of EnKoDeur-Mixeur) don't want to use avconv (!!!), this
is why we are integrating the static version of FFmpeg in the tree of
EnKoDeur-Mixeur (this is already the case in the SVN version of EKD).

a+
