The problem is there's a lot of tutorials out there that are
apparently outdated, and it's not obvious to newbies to tell.

I was able to load the AAC file in Audacity directly, without having
to put in a container.

I needed to split and invert the L/R channels before building a new
audio track to get rid of some music.
