Hi Carl,

Slightly ahead of you..  ( as I'd been following the exchanges )

The quoted patch,

      https://trac.ffmpeg.org/attachment/ticket/3583/patchwebm2.diff

when applied to the current git,

   git clone git://source.ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg.git ffmpeg

does indeed ( temporarily ) resolve the issue.

webm files produced by a so patched ffmpeg,appear to play
correctly in IE 11, when the user has the Google WebM plug-in,

   https://tools.google.com/dlpage/webmmf/

installed on their system.

I appreciate that it is the plug-in itself, which requires 'fixing', not
the ffmpeg code!
