[FFmpeg-user] Segmenting a video

Hello Everyone,

I need to know how ffmpeg maintains the same bitrate for each segment of
same duration.

For example, if I segment a video, say 120 seconds long using a 10 sec
segment at a required bitrate of 2mbps, that means there will be 12
segments each encoded at 2mbps.

How does ffmpeg achieves that? What all parameters are changed/taken into
consideration.
