[FFmpeg-user] same output, whatever the input

hello,

i started to work on a script that

* takes a video as input
* produce one mp4 output for available downscales

i started to write something here 

https://github.com/unistra/dtrt-ffmpeg/blob/master/bin/dtrt-ffmpeg-downscale

which works with mp4 inputs, now i'll add support of mkv, avi and more
but before it starts to grow, i would like to know if there are existing
tools, contributions to do those kind of jobs.

any link? idea?
